Moving on

I'm going to be shortly starting a 'new' job. I have been semi forced into climbing out of my safe and secure Web Diagram Editor hole and been given a brand new piece of work to do.
I can't say what it is until it goes public..... sounds very hush hush but it's really not that big of a deal.... it's just developing some web tooling for web developers that has not been done by our competitors before and so I can't give the game away. But it's not anything earth shattering.

However, it is new and I'll be doing it all from design through to implementation. It'll be a major bullet point on any release documentation and so should get me some recognition which will be good. And I think it'll be fun as well.

Speaking of recognition, a group of 4 of us are part way through trying our hand at filing 3 patents for some software we developed in the last release. If it gets accepted it'll mean that FINALLY if you do a google search on "Guy Slade" you will actually get a hit on ME and not some other Guy Slade. Not that any of us are particularly impressed with software patents, in fact we think it's all a big joke....I mean if you can almost patent "single click shopping".... well it just shows you what a crock it all is. But it'll be money in my pocket so I'll take it.
