The younger sibling

I feel very sorry for my brother. It looks like it can suck being the younger brother. Matthew is getting a bit jealous of any attention that Margaret or I give to Adam. He will often try and bodily get between us and Adam while cunningly acting cute to throw us off what he is really trying to do. It's actually quite fascinating watching him try all these little tricks and figure out new ones to try. He has also started physically pushing Adam down, or pushing him away with his feet and also being a bit rough handed with him in general. All 'normal' things I am sure but stuff Margaret and I have to keep and eye on and actively discourage.... I'm guessing I use to do all of the above to Robin ..... sorry Robin :-)

Adam seems to take it all in his stride and only cries if Matthew actually hurts him. That's when Matthew ends up standing in the corner.

Adam can now stand by himself for as long as he wants to. But he has not tried walking by himself yet. If he is standing and wants to move he will just sit himself down and crawl. He is also starting to walk while just holding one of our hands and having his other hand free. He is also actively playing peek a boo with us now. He will crawl to a curtain and pull it across himself and then pull it away again with a big smile on his face looking at us. We always say 'boo' or 'peek-a-boo' and he will laugh at us and do it again.

Matthew has started drawing a round face with eyes, a nose, and mouth in it. His vocab is growing and his pronunciation is getting much better.... he can say skeleton now (it's Halloween soon). He can count to mid twenties now and his ABC's is all old hat for him. I guess we should start looking at teaching him how to read soon.

They will be off to university before we know it
