Not a great deal to report at the moment. I have started the horrible task of clearing the hill at the front of our house ( cool, I can post a picture later and show you ). I have a lot of small to medium saplings to cut down and a ton of honeysuckle to get rid of. The honeysuckle is a big pain in the butt to get up and I think I will be spending a year or two spraying to kill it all off. But what I have cleared so far looks so much better than the mess we had there. Matthew is 'helping' me move all the things I have cut from the front to the back for burning later. I have borrowed my neighbors hand pull cart and load it up then Matthew sits on top and I pull it all up the driveway and then he helps unload it.... then he gets back into the empty cart for a ride back down. It's fun having him around.... may take a shorter amount of time if he wasn't there but we are both have a ball doing it together.
We live outside of any city limits and so there is no rubbish removal that come unless you pay someone. We were using a company to come collect it but about a month ago I cancelled it and now Matthew and I do a weekly trip to a collection site 5 mins down the road. We go every Sat morning and he enjoys that.... we pass a lake and a fountain and horses and if we are lucky a 'big digger' or two on the way. I remember going to the dump with Robin and Dad was always a fun thing ( not really sure why because it was a horrible smelly place ) and when Adam is old enough then the three of us will go. Sometimes on way back we stop off at the big pet store and go look at the dogs and cats and birds and fish.
Matthew is growing up, his vocab gets better each week, he can count to 26 now and he knows his letters. He is starting to get into climbing things... figured out how to climb to the top bunk of his bed without using the ladder yesterday.... much to our dismay.
Matthew has one more month of 'school' left and then it is summer break. Margaret's mum will be hear for pretty much the whole break and the pool that we belong to opens for that period as well so I'm guessing that the four of them will be spending a great deal of time there.
While Margaret's mum is hear I am going to take a week off work to build a garden shed. I am looking forward to that. I hope Matthew doesn't want to 'help' too much with it :-). Once the shed is up I will be able to clear a whole load of garden junk out of the garage and then we can move the water heater out of the house and into the garage...hopefully before it fails on us as it is 20 years old and the last plumber who was around said he would be checking it everyday for leaks.
Adam is doing as much as he can given his age. He really wants to move and hates it now when we strap him into his seat. He will last a little while on a mat on the floor and uses that time to roll. He can roll both ways now but still can't get back.... and I don't think he realizes yet that he can as he makes no attempt at it. He also loves sitting up... but can't without our help and can't stay sitting without our help. He has also started to try moving like a little caterpillar when he is on his tummy. He pulls his legs up underneath him and then tries to push out and move.... doesn't really work.
And that is it...
